is there love at first sight?

first and foremost i believe the answer to this question is a matter of opinion.  my opinion is based upon my belief in the Bible and how love is described in the Bible.
in our society i feel that the word "love" is often confused with lust-infatuation-obsession-fantasy-curiosity-and superficiality.  as normal humans living on this earth it is natural that we may feel some of the feelings mentioned above about a person we have only seen but have yet to get to know. i could pass somebody on the street and think they are good looking and have sexual thoughts cross my mind (lust). those feelings are felt on a regular basis by most of us. (males more often than females - but i'm not gonna get into that debate).  i could be in calculus class and a stranger occupy the seat next to me and feel a huge amount of infatuation; which simply means i think them to be charming and i am feeling fascinated with the notion of learning more about them.  i could be a movie-goer taking in the newest romantic film to be released in the theatre and be attracted to the principle character and begin to develop a fantasy in my mind about them.  i could see somebody every day on the bus and want to know more about them and be overcome with how curious i am about them.  i could flip through a magazine filled with beautiful looking people and convince myself that i am in love when its a heavy dose of lust. finally, the scariest and unfortunately very common situation is obsession being confused with love.  i could become irrational and behave like a fanatic around somebody and truly feel i love them.
i feel that there are different kinds of love.  there is family love shared between immediate and extended family,  romantic love shared between couples,  and love between friends.  i don't feel humans can love an object - only something that is alive(breathing) like a pet for example.  i can say that i loved (past tense) someone that has passed on.  i don't feel a human can love their favorite book.
i also know that the word love is overused in our society.  i love that song-i love that show-i love going there.  in the situations i just mentioned i would say that i luv it.  i luv the movie s.f.w for example or i luv calamari steak.
this blog is going sorta long so i'm gonna try and finish making my point.  i feel that you can love someone but not be IN love with them.  this is directed at romantic love - and in my opinion is not contemplated enough. loving the person you are with is going through the motions - being in love with the person you are with is looking forward to going through the motions.  its not complicated but we are human and we have fears and priorities.  i don't feel like tackling that subject at this moment - maybe another time.
the most important part of this long @#$ blog is the definition of love found in the Bible........LOVE IS
ALWAYS HOPEFUL
DOES NOT DEMAND ITS OWN WAY
ENDURES THROUGH EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE
KEEPS NO RECORD OF BEING WRONGED
KIND
NEVER GIVES UP
NEVER GLAD ABOUT INJUSTICE
NEVER LOSES FAITH
NOT BOASTFUL
NOT IRRITABLE
NOT JEALOUS
NOT PROUD
NOT RUDE
PATIENT
REJOICES WHEN TRUTH WINS OUT

wow - thats a lot all at the same time.  but that is my goal if i say i love someone.  to try and love them keeping all those things in mind.  i don't really think it is humanly possible but we can try to at least recognize that lust is not love.
God is only capable of this unconditional form of love - but His wish is for us to try.
